Some benefits of Grease Car conversion:
Recycling cooking oil that would normally be thrown out. Reducing dependency on fossil fuels, and exploring low emission options.
SHORT-TERM GOAL:
Grease Car conversion class project gets replicated in other High School shop classes.
LONG-TERM GOAL:
Raise awareness about, and potential funds for, the first Green Building designed and created by high school students. Spearheaded by Automotive H.S. teacher Mr. Cassino, the Green Building would be a collaboration between vocational schools across New York City. Architects, engineers, and builders of the future will be able to know "Green" skills when they enter the workforce. ( A Brooklyn Building owner has agreed to donate a building for the project.)
